Q How do I install PandaVPN on Android TV?
You can search for PandaVPN in Google Play on Android TV and install it.
You can also go to the PandaVPN official website pandavpnpro.com/download, download the official Android TV APK, and then install it. Do not install third-party APKs, cracked versions, or versions from unknown sources.
Q How should I choose a server on Android TV?
For daily use, you can choose Smart-Select Server or a recommended server.
If you need to access content from a specific region, choose the server for the corresponding country or region. If playback is slow or the region is incorrect, switch to another server in the same region and try again.
Q Does Android TV support all protocols?
Not necessarily. The protocols and features available on Android TV may differ from those on phones or computers. The actual options shown in the client should be used as the reference.
If you are not sure which protocol to choose, we recommend using Smart Mode(智能模式). If the connection is unstable, you can switch to another available protocol in the app and try again.
Q Should I use the Android TV app or the mobile app?
If you want to use VPN on your TV, we recommend installing and using the PandaVPN Android TV app directly, so app traffic on the TV can go through the VPN connection.
PandaVPN on your phone mainly protects the phone’s own network connection and usually does not directly protect app traffic on Android TV.
Q How do I send Android TV issue details to the support team?
In the PandaVPN Android TV client, look for Online Feedback(在线反馈), Feedback(反馈), or the support entry, and describe the issue you are experiencing.
When contacting the support team, please provide your Android TV device model, system version, PandaVPN version, selected server, time when the issue occurred, error message, and a screenshot or photo. Do not send sensitive information such as passwords, verification codes, or bank cards.
Remote, server and streaming
5 answersTroubleshoot TV remote controls, server/protocol selection, wrong streaming region, and IPTV setup.
Q Why can’t the TV remote select a certain control?
This may be related to the Android TV system, remote focus, or the current page state.
First press the Back button on the remote to exit the current page, then enter it again. You can also restart PandaVPN or the TV device and try again. If the device supports it, you can also try using a Bluetooth mouse, keyboard, or phone remote app.
Q Why can’t I choose a server or protocol on Android TV?
If you cannot choose a server or protocol on Android TV, the system may be restricting PandaVPN from running in the background or blocking interface switching.
Please try the following settings:
- Enable Developer Mode on Android TV.
- Enable “Allow apps to run in the background” or a similar option.
- Enable “Force allow apps on external” to allow apps to run on external devices.
- Turn off “Don’t keep activities.”
After finishing the settings, reopen PandaVPN and try again. If you still cannot choose a server or protocol, restart Android TV and make sure the latest PandaVPN client is installed.
Q Why does streaming on Android TV still show the wrong region?
This may be because the streaming app has cached old region information, or because the account region, payment method, or device location still keeps the original settings.
Please make sure PandaVPN is connected to the target region server, then fully exit the streaming app and reopen it. If needed, clear the app cache, restart Android TV, or switch to another server in the same region and try again.
Q Can PandaVPN help with using IPTV?
PandaVPN can help encrypt your network connection and, in some cases, improve network routing when accessing services in specific regions.
However, whether IPTV is available also depends on the IPTV service itself, your account region, content licensing, and network environment. PandaVPN does not provide IPTV content and cannot guarantee that all IPTV services can be accessed normally.
Q How do I set up a proxy server for IPTV?
If your IPTV app supports proxy settings, you can configure it as follows:
- Open the IPTV app or device network settings, and find “Proxy Server” or “Proxy.”
- Enter the proxy information:
Proxy address:127.0.0.1
Proxy type:SOCKS5
Port:1090
Please refer to the SOCKS5 port shown in PandaVPN client “Settings” or “Advanced Settings.” - Save the settings, then reopen the IPTV app or restart the device.
- Connect to a server in PandaVPN. For routing mode, we recommend using Global Mode first, or choosing Smart Mode or split-tunneling mode as needed.
After setup, test whether IPTV can play normally.
